Editing an MP3's information
To edit the ID3 tags in MP3 files - the information shown in the playlists and information window for MP3s - do the following:
Tip: Save & Close will close the editor after your changes are saved. But Save will leave the editor window open, so you can drop in new files and edit them. Tip: You can also highlight files in the Playlist window before opening the MP3 Info Editor to edit the tags of those highlighted files.
Tip: When editing multiple files at once, you specify only the fields you want to change, leaving the rest untouched. General The general tab covers the basic information stored in an MP3 file, including artist, title, track numbers, and comments. This information is largely used for sorting and managing files in your playlist. Details The details tab alllows you to fine tune the playback of your individual MP3s. You can set a relative volume adjustment, which can compensate for quiet MP3s. And you can set an EQ setting that will be used when the MP3 is played back. Popularity By giving each of your songs a personal popularity rating, you can sort and listen to your playlist from from favorite to least favorite (Vanilla Ice, right?) Additionally, Audion can keep a count of how often a song is listened to, an option which is turned off by default. You can reset a song's count in this tab. Artwork By dragging a JPEG image file into the Artwork tab, you can store album artwork inside your MP3 files. This artwork will be displayed in the Covert Art Viewer, available from the Window menu, while navigating a playlist. Note: Audion won't scale the art when saving it, so try to keep the file size of your JPEG images small. |
